Digital Watercolours - Wear The Art

Digital Watercolours - Wear The Art

I’ve been creating digital watercolours in one form or another since 2018. I began exploring the technique shortly after the success of my double exposure wildlife series. Which, by the way, have also evolved into both the digital watercolours and a new form of double exposure that I’m not quite ready to share with the public.

Firstly what are digital watercolours? For me it was a technique that I developed by taking photos of watercolour swatches that I created, then bringing them into Photoshop and combining them with photos of people or pets, creating what looked like a good watercolour. The number of adjustment and image layers in Photoshop, as you can see here ended up being twenty total layers. This technique resulted in a digital file that is then printed and sold as limited prints and greeting cards.

I began to feel the images were becoming stale and I needed a new look. Something bold and in your face, Something that says look at me! I wear the art on my heart! After many trials and hours of developing the new technique. I have come up with the images you see here and on my website; www.strangetripstudios.com
